While Meadows Ryan Solicitors continued to operate remotely during the full government lockdown, we are pleased to announce that our offices are now open with a limited number of our team working at 56 Church Street Weybridge and the remainder of our staff working remotely. We are able to offer a full service to our clients. With the government’s recent announcement of the re-opening of the property market, we have started to see an up-turn in new instructions and matters proceeding to exchange of Contracts and completion.
We take all of the Rules surrounding health and safety and the COVID-19 Guidelines very seriously. In line with legislation, we have undertaken a full risk assessment at our offices and our staff are working in compliance with social distancing and with enhanced health and safety criteria. We are conducting many meetings with clients via video conferencing such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and facetime, whilst other clients prefer to talk on the telephone. Where a video meeting is not an option, we have also been meeting clients at a social distance outside to enable execution of documents and delivery of papers. Indoor meetings with clients are currently seen as only applicable in exceptional circumstances and must be by appointment only.
If you or any of your contacts would like to discuss your property requirements, then please do not hesitate to contact us. We are seeing more simultaneous exchanges and completions than in normal times or reduced time frames between exchange and completion. Many parties are also discussing the use of COVID-19 clauses in their Contracts. We are committed to guiding our clients through these times and to help with all of their needs. Due to the fact that it can take longer for people to get documents to their solicitors, we are advising that sellers should start the process of instructing solicitors and commencing the necessary paperwork once they put their property on the market, rather than waiting until they have a buyer, to save valuable time.
