It’s important to know the difference between different types of tenancies when either entering into a new tenancy agreement or ending a tenancy agreement.
There are various types of tenancies, such as:
• Assured Tenancies;
• Assured Shorthold Tenancies; and
• Common Law Tenancies.
Different tenancies have different rules and regulations which apply and it’s important to understand those differences from the outset to ensure both landlord and tenant understands their rights and obligations, for example, how you (as landlord or tenant) can lawfully terminate your tenancy agreement.
