To demonstrate its ongoing commitment to local communities, one of Surrey’s leading law firms Meadows & Co. is launching a year of fundraising for two charities.
Over the next 12 months, Meadows & Co. will host a number of events to raise money for two highly deserving causes, Epsom RDA and White Lodge.
Based in the same town as the famous racecourse, Epsom RDA uses the therapeutic power of horses to improve the health and well being of both adults and children with physical and learning disabilities, including Autism, Down’s Syndrome, and visual impairment.
Run and managed by a passionate group of volunteers, the rider fees fall short of he £3,500 per month that is needed to run Epsom RDA, with donations being critical to keeping the charity running seven days a week, 50 weeks of the year.
Riding is one of the main ways that disabled people can access physical exercise, which in turn has a positive, long-term impact on confidence levels, relationship building and enjoyment. Laura Hales, Chair Trustee said; “The generous support of Meadows & Co. will help us to continue to operate and offer more opportunities for those with disabilities to engage with horses”.
Meadows & Co.’s other charity of the year, White Lodge, supports individuals across Surrey and beyond, through a diverse range of services for all ages and disabilities.
It aims to create a world which is inclusive to all, regardless of ability. Situated on a two-acre site and spread across three specialist buildings, it provides great facilities and services for all ages that include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, a specialist nursery, hydrotherapy, holiday clubs, short breaks and many activities, such as trips out, art, baking and swimming.
In sending thanks to Meadows & Co. Tania Gallagher, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser, said: “For many, White Lodge is a home from home and the friendly and dedicated staff provide an environment that is inclusive to all.
“Our statutory funding falls far short of the funds needed to run our vital services and we cannot thank you enough for your support this year.
“Your fundraising in aid of White Lodge enables us to continue to support the needs of our children and adults with disabilities enabling their ability to be as independent as possible and for every one of them to reach their potential.”
Ashley Burrow, Partner & Practice Manager at Meadows & Co. said: “Epsom RDA and White Lodge provide incredible support to people with disabilities across Surrey and beyond, so we are proud to be supporting them in the coming year with our fundraising and activities.
“Organisations like these to great causes play an essential role in our society and so we hope we can deliver as much support and funding as possible.”
Community lies at the heart of Meadows & Co.’s core values and so its team are looking forward to a year of fundraising.
We hope to bring updates on our activities to the attention of the public in the coming months, as we raise money and awareness for these two important local causes.
