John is a company commercial lawyer whose experience includes time spent as an in-house lawyer in a software house and as a partner at Layton’s. John qualified in November 1984.
John advises a range of companies through their life cycle. On start up, he will prepare shareholders’ agreements and tailored articles; on fund raising, he will assist in the negotiations with venture capital or angel funding; in expansion, he will advise on share schemes for employees, commercial contracts and purchases of new businesses; and on exit, he will advise on sale either by way of share sale or asset disposal. His approach is pragmatic, based on an understanding of the client’s business and their needs.
Outside of work, John likes walking the dogs, playing bridge and is at that stage of life when he provides a taxi service to his children.
